We were hoping that the wind would lay down enough for tonight’s trip but it keeps on blowing. Tonight’s trip has been canceled
Friday squid report
We are happy to report that the squid fishing started off great start. We picked squid as soon as the jigs were in the water. We did better on the drift then anchor. High hooks had close to 3 buckets with everyone leaving with a bucket or close to it.

We were able to sneak in the weekend for some late season cod. We had great weather but after the blow the past week it pushed in dog fish. And not just a few dogs piles and piles of them. We did manage to pick away at cod and cunners before we would get swamped. Jigs were the way to go both days to keep away from the dog. We may have a cod trip or 2 before we swap over to fluke soon.

Apr 23/24
Captain Cole reported a slower day on the cod grounds. the water was still stirred up after it gusted 70 this week. We tried a bunch of different areas. Most spots showed lots of life but the fish didnt wanna eat. Jigs were still the best way to go on keepers and shorts. Sailing tomorrow at 6am on the Lady
Today was a much tougher day on the grounds. The forecast was 10-15 and was a solid 25 all day. We had terrible conditions to work with. We found a few fish through the day but it was painfully slow. We did find some better life at the end of the day and we tried to get the fish to chew. NO trip tomorrow to let things calm back down and back at it this coming week.

No sail tomorrow with the south west gust 30. All anglers have been notified by email.
Captain Cole reported a Good pick on the cod grounds. We sailed with a light crowd who wanted to get some Easter cod fish. The morning was good until around noon when the wind picked up. High hook had 3 keepers with a few others having 1-2 each. Jigs produced the best. NO sailing tomorrow but Monday is looking very nice.
