Kindly call the office to make a reservation if interested in participating. Tonight’s Striper trip will set sail at 7pm on the Admiral Frances.
GOOD PM HALF DAY WITH CAPT. MIKE ON THE ADMIRAL FRANCES,, CAPT RICH CRUSHES THE BIG FLUKE AGAIN ON THE GAIL FRANCES!!, TODAY 6/23/11!
Capt. Mike was once again very pleased with the half day fishing on the second trip at 1pm today. Busy does not even begin to describe all the action with short fluke and a nice slug of keepers to 6lbs. Troy Beique, on a busman’s holiday put four nice keepers on the decks of the Admiral Frances including a brace of fish in the 4 to 5lb range culled out of an amazing amount of shorts. His secret was the double spro set up. Another angler culled a couple nice keepers to 4lbs out of a staggering number of shorts including two double headers fishing a tandem bait rig with mostly using only spearing for bait. Anglers threw back some nice sea bass once again as well. Tomorrow we have the next two half day trips scheduled with the first leaving at 8am and the next one at 1pm. For anglers interested in doing back to back trips the Frances Fleet will gladly offer a 5 dollar discount off the second trip.
Capt. Rich reported another great day of fishing on the 7 am full day boat today. There were many limits and most anglers had at least a few nice fish each to take home. Today the secret weapon was whole squid with spros doing well but coming in second. A group of five anglers from New York using whole squid were all easily limited out today and almost all of their fish were fish over 4lbs. In fact most of the fish today were between four and six pounds with several fish between 8 and 9lbs to battle it out for the pool honors. Several sporty blue fish added a little excitement to today’s trip and anglers as usual tossed back some nice sea bass. Capt. Rich looks forward to another good day tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
GOOD MORNING HALF DAY ON THE ADMIRAL FRANCES WITH CAPT. MIKE, TODAY 6/23/2011!!
Capt. Mike reported a good morning half day with a nice mix of keepers and shorts and all of this with almost no drift at all! Hi hook took home four fine keepers including two fish in the 6lb range. He did all his damage by fishing a tandem bait rig with only spearing!! Fancy that! Anglers also tossed back some nice sea bass up to 5.5lbs so watch out on 7/11!! Anyway it was a good morning of fishing and Capt. Mike looks forward to another good afternoon trip with the Admiral Frances setting sail at 1pm.
Thursday June 23
Capt. Richie reported that he crushed the fish on the 7:00 a.m. full day trip today. A small crowd of anglers today with all but two people bringing home their limit of 7 fluke a piece. Biggest weighed in at just over 10 lbs and with the majority of the fish in the 4 – 6 lb range. A nice bunch of blues mixed in to keep things exciting. Plenty of seabass coming over the rails, that unfortunately are still out of season, so must be thrown back. July 11th cant come fast enough, thats when seabass season opens in RI. But overall a very very good day on the full day trip.
Capt. Mike had a nice group of people on his full day charter today, all from Douglas Plumbing and Heating out of CT. They also had a very productive day. A nice bunch of keeper fluke and plenty of throwbacks to keep everyone busy all day. And the best part of their charter today was that the rain waited until they were back at the dock. They got a little wet loading their cars but they were dry all day.
Capt. Chris on the half day this morning had nice mix of keeper fluke as well as throwbacks. Some nice seabass that were caught and released as well as some gator size bluefish. One angler had one almost hitting the 15 lb mark. Next half day trip is tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.
Wednesday June 22
Capt. Richie called in to report and fantastic day of fluke fishing despite the lack of drift… most anglers had 4-6 keepers a piece with some limits… Dave from CT. had the pool fish weighing in at 8lbs. With the slow drift, spro jigs were the way to go today.
Capt Mike reported that the morning half day had a nice handful of keepers up to 5 lbs with lots of shorts mixed in. Slow drifting made the fishing tough but Capt. Mike made it happen.
Capt Matt called in saying that the drift had picked up in the afternoon and fishing was even better with a larger handful of keepers and shorts to go around.
I would also like to let you know that this was Captain Matt’s first solo trip with fantastic results… we will be looking forward to great things out of this young man.

Capt. Rich reported a good day of fluking despite some rather slow drift condtions. Quite a few nice fish with the best of the lot around 8lbs. There was at least one limit catch today. Capt. Rich looks forward to some better drift condtions tomorrow and more good fishing with the Gail Frances setting sail at 7am. The Lady Frances will set sail at 8am for the first half day and then at 1pm for the second half day trip.
CAPT. RICH TUNES UP THE BIG FLUKE YET AGAIN, MONDAY JUNE 20TH 2011!!/HALF DAY REPORTS
Capt. Rich reported another very strong day with the fluke. Between 80 and 90 keepers, many of them jumbos went into anglers bags and coolers today with Tom Farone from Wallingford CT taking today’s pool with a remarkable 10.5lb slab. Tom also had three other keepers including a 6 lbr as well. Many of the anglers aboard had four to six keepers apiece but there was no certain word of whether or not anyone limited out. For those keeping track we are now closing in on the double digit number mark for double digit weight fluke and its only mid June!! Not bed eh? Capt. Rich looks forward to another good day tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
Capt. Mike reported an okay morning trip with some nice keepers and a nice turnout of anglers but the PM half was very slow due to no drift for a very light crowd. Next brace of half day trips are slated for tomorrow 8am to Noon and 1pm to 5pm.
GOOD HALF DAY FISHING TODAY, BOTH TRIPS/7AM FULL DAY FLUKE REPORT/ SUNDAY JUNE 19TH 2011
Capt. Mike reported both half day trips found some good fishing very close to home. Anthony Mecurio who went back to back trips with his son Anthony Jr.had a great day each both getting jumbo fluke on each trip. Anthony Jr. had a brace of jumbos that went 6 and 5.5 lbs respectively. The tandem style bait rig and or rental rod set ups were def. the way to go inshore on the beach today. Next set of half day fishing trips will be tomorrow with the 8am to Noon and the 1pm to 5pm setting sail on the Lady Frances with Capt. Mike.
Capt. Rich reported a great turnout of fluke anglers to celebrate the Father’s Day Holiday today and good fishing to go along with it. Nearly 100 keepers hit the decks today with a good many fish in the four to six pound range with several fish in the 8lb range to battle it out for the pool.
