VERY GOOD FLUKING AGAIN TODAY ON THE LADY FRANCES WITH CAPT. MIKE, MONDAY JUNE 13TH 2011!!
Capt. Mike was pleased to report more great fluking today with a nice pile of big keepers for a moderate group of fluke enthusiasts. Adrian Montique had five fine keepers today and the pool winning slab checking in at an impressive 10lbs. Jane from Richmond, a longtime regular at the Frances Fleet showed up some of the boys today bagging her limit by 11am! Way to go Jane!! Those are just a couple of today’s angling hi lights. Pics of yesterday’s catch and today’s can be seen at www.noreast.com under our thread “Frances Fleet Running Reports” under the Party/Charterboat section. Capt. Rich looks forward to another good fishing day tomorrow with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7am.
FLUKE CRUSH AND DOUBLE DIGIT POOL WINNER ONCE AGAIN TODAY, SUNDAY JUNE 12TH ON THE LADY FRANACES WITH CAPT. RICH!!!
Capt. Rich was pleased to report another big day on the fluke grounds. There were many limit catches and again there were a lot of big fluke well over 5lbs with the days best tipping the scales at nearly 11lbs. Do not worry Mr. Pak your fish on Thursday is still the biggest so far this season! Most terminal gear was effective with both bait rigs and bucktails proving effective. Tomorrow the weather looks great and Capt. Mike looks forward to another good day on the fluke grounds setting sail on the Lady Frances at 7am.
Unfortunately there is no squid trip tonight. Too bad as the fishing is still great and so would have been the weather this evening. Reservations are mandatory for squid fishing, calling back to make sure the boat is going without a reservation does not count as a reservation. Anyway we try again for Wednesday evening with Capt. Ray setting sail on the Lady Frances at 7pm. If interested call the office to reserve.
UPDATE FOR SUNDAY JUNE 12TH 2011
The weather looks like it will be much better for squid fishing tonight as compared to last night. We are gladly accepting reservations until around 4pm today, so plese make sure to call the office to make a reservation if you plan on going. The fishing was excellent our last time out Friday Night and was great the two other nights we were out this week. Hi hooks filled upwards to and more than one five gallon pail and there was still a great mix of sizes! Squid fishing will continue Wednesday through Sunday Nights by reservation until further notice.
FLUKE REPORT FOR SATURDAY JUNE 11TH 2011
Capt. Rich reported different conditions today with a strong breeze and very quick drift and naturally bait rigs were the way to go. A dozen nice fish over six pounds today with the best around 8lbs for the pool. Hi hook today took home five fine keepers. Capt. Rich looks forward to some better forecasted fishing conditions tomorrow with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7am.
GOOD SQUID BITE ON LADY FRANCES FRIDAY NIGHT JUNE 10TH 2011!!
Capt. Ray reported a great squid bite ensued once again during the second half of the night’s squid trip. It was so quiet one could hear a pin drop the first half and then all of a sudden the squid were there and aggressive! Not as many super size tubes as the night before so many more of the medium and large sizes but those who stuck it out generally managed a half bucket or so with a few guys doing as much as a full five gallon pail. In fact one regular had a full five gallon pail and was just starting a second! Just the usual out of season stuff and a few short fluke on the finfish side of things. Capt. Ray looks forward to tonight’s squid trip setting sail at 7pm on the Lady Frances.
BIG DAY FOR BIG FLUKE AND SPROS ON THE LADY FRANCES, TODAY FRIDAY JUNE 10TH 2011!!
Capt. Mike reported another big day with the jumbo fluke on the 7am full day boat. Some anglers did exceptionally well today and some pics will be able to be seen on our post at www.noreast.com. One angler was limited out by 11am and Mike Yung from Peacedale Tackle followed shortly after. A good many other anglers had several nice fluke apiece to take home. With the slower drift conditions the spro combinations were deadly once again today. Most of the keepers were jumbos in the 4 to 6lb range with a bunch of bigger fluke but no monsters with several fish in the 7 to 8lb range fighting it out for the pool today. A few nice blue fish and some more C/R with out of season sea bass (Catch and Release). Very few shorts in the mix so pretty clean fishing the past couple days. Capt. Rich looks forward to another good day tomorrow, tomorrow’s fishing trip will likely feature a faster drift so be prepared with both bucktail set ups and bait rigs. Capt. Rich will set sail on the Lady Frances at 7am.
GOOD SQUID FISHING AGAIN LAST NIGHT ON THE LADY FRANCES, THURSDAY JUNE 9TH 2011!
Capt. Ray was again pleased with the results of last night’s squid fishing. After the rain and thunderstorms got out of the way around 930pm the squid started to become active and by 10pm or so a steady pick had ensued. There were a few lulls but overall the action was very good despite a hard tide. Quite a few double and even some triple headers and what was interesting was that there were quite a few big super size tubes back in the mix again! Hi hooks filled at least 3/4 of a bucket last night with many of the anglers aboard doing a half bucket. One keeper fluke and a few big scup plus plenty of catch and release out of season sea bass to over 5lbs completed the night’s activity. Capt. Ray looks forward to another good night tonight with the Lady Frances set to sail for squid at 7pm. Call the office to make reservations!
DORMATT FISHING TODAY ON THE LADY FRANCES, THURSDAY JUNE 9TH 2011!!!!
Capt. Rich reported the big fluke bit for some anglers with a vengance today aboard the Lady Frances. Mr. Pak had a day to remember even by his standards limiting out in two drifts!! All big fish over 4lbs and he took the pool with a fine super slab that went just under 11lbs!! Way to go Mr. Pak!! There were several other limit catches today as well. There were two or three other big slabs right around 10lbs and several others in the 8lb range according to Capt. Rich. Nicky Blount was aboard today and was pleased with his limit of big fluke to nearly 7lbs. Nicky and Capt. Rich said there were lots and lots of jumbo fluke in the four to six pound range. By and large the action was on bucktails today with the spro setups reigning supreme. Mr. Pak also changed things up a bit today and used some fresh caught blue fish belly strips to sweeten up his bucktail offering. In addition to some blue fish, some fine out of season sea bass were caught and released as well. The catch did vary rather dramatically from angler to angler with no real “average catch” but those who did well today truly had a day to remember! Capt. Mike looks forward to another good day on the fluke grounds tomorrow morning with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7am.
