Capt. Ray reported a respectable night of squid fishing. It took a little while to find them and there was a strong tide going which kept them hard down to the bottom but after awhile they started coming and by the end of the night a few guys had filled upwards to a half of a five gallon pail with large and jumbo tubes. All nice stuff and all hard down on the bottom. For some reason the front of the boat caught a bit better, maybe tide driven?? The numbers did vary wildly from angler to angler with some guys doing very well and some not. Smaller squid jigs were working really well last night too and the lighter the rod the better. We marked a lot of squid as well and overall were very encouraged by what we saw considering the weather of the past week. Capt. Ray looks forward to another squid trip tonight with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7pm, call the office if interested in making a reservation.
