Capt. Mike was once again very pleased with the half day fishing on the second trip at 1pm today. Busy does not even begin to describe all the action with short fluke and a nice slug of keepers to 6lbs. Troy Beique, on a busman’s holiday put four nice keepers on the decks of the Admiral Frances including a brace of fish in the 4 to 5lb range culled out of an amazing amount of shorts. His secret was the double spro set up. Another angler culled a couple nice keepers to 4lbs out of a staggering number of shorts including two double headers fishing a tandem bait rig with mostly using only spearing for bait. Anglers threw back some nice sea bass once again as well. Tomorrow we have the next two half day trips scheduled with the first leaving at 8am and the next one at 1pm. For anglers interested in doing back to back trips the Frances Fleet will gladly offer a 5 dollar discount off the second trip.
Capt. Rich reported another great day of fishing on the 7 am full day boat today. There were many limits and most anglers had at least a few nice fish each to take home. Today the secret weapon was whole squid with spros doing well but coming in second. A group of five anglers from New York using whole squid were all easily limited out today and almost all of their fish were fish over 4lbs. In fact most of the fish today were between four and six pounds with several fish between 8 and 9lbs to battle it out for the pool honors. Several sporty blue fish added a little excitement to today’s trip and anglers as usual tossed back some nice sea bass. Capt. Rich looks forward to another good day tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
