Capt. Rich reported a good day of fluke fishing with a lot of jumbo fluke again hitting the decks of the Gail Frances. Seems most of the keepers continue to be big fish of 4 pounds and up with a few smaller and then plenty of little throwbacks mixed in to keep things busy. A few more blue fish and less in the way of those out of season sea bass in addition to the fluke. Mike Yung from Peace Token Tackle had the days best fluke with a slab that scaled over 9lbs. Capt. Rich looks forward to more graeat weather and good fishing tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
The report from the half day trips was of more good fishing. The nice weather brought out short term fluke enthusiasts in full force for the afternoon trip and they were treated to some lock and load action with the fluke along the south shore Rhode Island Beaches with a nice bunch of keepers to 5lbs in the mix amongst all the shorts. A nice mess of trophy size out of season sea bass were tossed back as well. Tomorrow’s half day schedule reads two trips, one at 8am and the next at 1pm aboard the Lady Frances.
