Capt. Mike reported a very good day of local fluke fishing along the south shore beaches today. Bill Bender from NY was pleased with his fine limit of fluke while Mike Jung, his wife and son from Peace Token tackle NJ all had a great day with limit or near limit catches of fluke. The pool fish was around six pounds and there were several of them in that range to duke it out and Capt. Mike also reported a fair amount of other fluke over 4lbs for the day. A few nice sea bass and a decent amount of action with short fluke completed the day’s fishing. Next 8am full day trip is set to sail tomorrow morning on the Admiral Frances.
Capt. Rich reported no drift out to the east today caused some slower fishing once again. Too bad for we had an awesome turnout of eager fluke enthusiasts. Yesterday it was a bit too much wind and today there was not enough! Nevertheless the anglers aboard managed some nice fluke to over 7lbs and a respectable amount of good size sea bass. There were a couple anglers once again who did very well with the fluke limiting out or being within a fish of the limit but again like yesterday the fish were not all that spread out. There was a pop of action late in the trip and Capt. Rich did stay out late to capitalize upon it. Tomorrow sounds better with a bit more wind forecasted and the Gail Frances will set sail at 7am.
