Capt. Ray reported a much slower Striper trip last night. The so called isolated evening showers and thunderstorms were not so isolated at all and the two plus hour deluge and associated side effects made the Striper fishing challenging to say the least for a sizeable portion of the evening. There were a handful of Stripers right off the bat and then after the weather cleared out there was a pick of bass later but compared to the last several outings the fishing was way off. Nothing big with the best size fish perhaps into the 15lb range. A very few blue fish mixed in. Just a tough night. Tonight is a new night and Capt. Ray looks forward to more Striper action with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7pm. Plenty of room on tonight’s outing so if interested please call the office to book.
Friday and Saturday Nights starting this weekend we will offer a combo trip in addition to the Night Striper outings. The combo trip will run from 7pm to Midnight and will be an opportunity to fish the local beaches through dusk and then after dark. The night will start with a drift or two for fluke and then we will anchor up in the rocky bottom for fish for scup and sea bass. Once anchored this will also give anglers an opportunity to jig for squid if they wish to do so. Last year some great catches of squid were made on the night combo trips. These trips are by reservation so if interested please call the office to book.
