Capt. Ray reported a solid night of Striper fishing with a nice turnout of Striper enthusiasts. Nothing as big as the night before with the best around 20lbs. Two nice fluke and a couple blue fish mixed in as well. A bass or two fell to diamond jigs as well last evening as did both fluke. Just a tremendous amount of needlefish and big squid on the local Striper grounds should keep good numbers of bass around and feeding heavily for some time to come. Tonight looks like some great weather for Striper fishing so if interested in booking call the office as Capt. Ray will be ready to set sail on the Lady Frances at 7pm.
Capt. Chris reported the Matt Spina charter enjoyed great weather and some good fluke fishing. All nice stuff with just about every fish in the jumbo category (4lbs and up) with the best around 8lbs. A few hefty sea bass mixed in as well. Still some choice dates for charters as we roll right into August. Species to consider include cod.fluke, sea bass and stripers. Call the office for further booking details if interested.
Capt. Mike reported a gorgeous evening half day on the water but the fishing was just a tad slower than what we have generally been used to. The drift started slow and then died from there. Still some nice keeper fluke and a few good size sea bass and some shorts kept the interest above board. Two half day trips today with the first setting sail at 8am and the next at 4pm.
Capt. Mike will be out on the local cod grounds once again today armed with some beautiful fresh skimmers. The weather looks pristene and hopefull the cod are hungry. Look for a full report later on this afternoon!
