Capt. Mike reported last night’s evening PM half day was on the slow side but some quality fluke in the three to five pound range and a few nice sea bass pleased the anglers aboard with the rental rods by far doing the best.
Capt. Keith reported a good morning of half day fishing with a nice slug of keepers up to 6.5lbs for the anglers aboard with a number of anglers getting two or three keepers each. Several other jumbo fluke in the 4 to 5lb range in addtion to the big fish of the day. The shorts kept some anglers busy today as well. No sea bass to speak of at all this morning. Considering the very very slow drift it was a rather impressive morning of fishing. Single spro jigs casted and worked along the bottom or rental rod plain jane bait rigs were the best producers for size today. Next half day trip today sets sail at 4pm on the Admiral Frances with Capt. Mike.
Capt. Chris reported a good morning of half day fishing for the Daniel Henchman group with a slow pick all morning resulting in a nice haul of keepers including several fluke in the jumbo category of 4 to 5lbs. Just a couple nice sea bass mixed in. The end result was some fine looking bags of fillets for the anglers aboard. All the fish on the charter were taken on rental rod set ups.
Unfortunately the cod special for tomorrow is to be cancelled. Looks like the somewhat sporty weather forecast for Sunday has kept the interest level down. We will try again for next Sunday, August 21st. We would really like to keep the summer cod fish specials going as reports continue to indicate some good fishing locally from smaller craft which have been sampling the goods recently. The trip will leave at 5am and return sometime around or after 3pm. Reservations are again necessary. Please call the office with any questions about the Sunday Cod Specials.
