Capt. Mike reported a very good day of fluke fishing today. Ashley Hindes from Illinois was by far the fluke superstar today as she easily and seemingly effortlessly limited out on good size fluke before noon!! Ashley made her Grandfather and longtime regular customer Bob Lazure quite proud. Awesome fishing talent certainly runs in the family! Ashley’s rig of choice was a tandem bait rig but the hook with the big white rubber squid tipped with squid and spearing did most of the damage. Ashley also had the only double header of the day and about half of her keepers were jumbo fluke between four and seven pounds. Well done Ashley!! The rest of Bob’s gang all did well with most accruing several nice keepers apiece and a few nice sea bass as well. They managed to fill a good size cooler right to the brim with good size fluke. In general most of the other anglers aboard had at least enough fluke for a few good dinners. Quite a few quality fish all around the boat and a nice sprinkling of sea bass along with one trophy scup. Roger finally gave up on his homeade rig today and put on a spin and glo packaged rig and saved face by putting several keepers in the boat including a last minute 8lb slab. Capt. Mike was using a mylar feather/spin and glo combo and he did the same as Roger putting several nice fluke in the boat in short order. Different condtions call for different methods. The long leadered bait rigs were the way to go as the drift conditons were very quick. Capt. Mike looks forward to another nice day on the water tomorrow with the Admiral Frances set to sail at 8am. A few pics will illustrate today’s good fishing aboard the Admiral Frances.
