Capt. Rich was pleased to report that for the modest group of anglers who joined us today, there was some good fishing and the weather was just awesome. It was a slow but steady pick throughout the day with actually somewhat better results for those who were fishing in the shade under the boat! Still just about everyone went home with a nice bag of fillets for some great meals to come. There were some sea bass mixed in with the fluke today including some hefty specimens over 3lbs but once again the fluke definitely stole the show once again and a lot of the anglers aboard went home with four to seven (limit) nice size fluke apiece including quite a few jumbos in the four to five pound range with a few bigger ones to 7.5lbs for the big fish honors. All terminal gear seemed to work equally well today with plain bait on a hook or white fly with boat bait being about the best. Everyday is different and yesterday green was the hot color. Capt. Rich reported seeing a good amount of bait on the grounds today. What will happen after Irene rolls through is a question mark and we wont know until she speaks her peace. There is no fishing this weekend. As for this coming week, stay tuned to the web site for updates as to when we plan on resuming fishing next week. We would like to wish everyone a safe and healthy weekend and keep the thoughts of the great fall fishing to come in the week’s ahead!
