Capt. Rich reported a great mixed bag of bottom dwellers today on the 7am full day. The catch included some big fluke to just over 9lbs with the big fish honors going to Robbie Cox of Old Saybrook,CT. Mr. Kim from the NYC metro area took the pool with a fine slab of 8lbs today and there were a decent number of other jumbo fluke scattered all around the boat today. The bigger story today was the good number of sea bass taken all around the boat by anglers. Mostly all nice stuff with the best of the lot going at least 5lbs. Numbers varied but many anglers had four to six jumbo sea bass apiece. An pleasant surprise was the number of slammer scup up to 3lbs taken today and there was a nice array of blue fish of mixed sizes although Sean Hart put a true alligator of at least 12lbs safely aboard the Gail Frances today. Anglers were also treated to the sight of a giant sea turtle today who took a ride by the boat today around midday. The enormous leatherback was probably at least several hundred pounds! Long leadered bait rigs with green or white bucktails today seemed to be the most effective fish catching rigs although all terminal gear was effective. Capt. Rich looks forward to more good weather and fishing tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
Capt. Mike reported a good morning of half day fishing with quite a few nice size sea bass but not much in the way of the fluke today. Well the weather was great and everyday is different! Just one half day tomorow morning set to sail on the Admiral Frances at 8am.
