Capt. Ray reported another awesome day of Block Island porgy fishing with most anglers aboard getting their limit and some satisfied anglers quitting early because they had all they wanted! These super size scup averaged between 1.25 and 2lbs generally with some bigger ones to 3lbs. Most anglers also had at least a few nice size sea bass apiece to go along with their porgies and some anglers easily had a half dozen good size sea bass apiece to take home. A fair number of sea bass over 3lbs with the best around or just over 4lbs. Some good size ocean perch(filleting size!) and a nice bunch of blue fish up to 10lbs to top off a great catch of scup and sea bass and give the anglers aboard some added sport. As one could imagine there were many double headers today and all terminal porgy rigs were working equally well. We are off to one heck of a start once again here and we look forward to lots more great scup fishing in the weeks to follow. Capt. Ray looks forward to another great day of weather and fishing tomorrow with the Admiral Frances set to sail for scup at 8am.
