Capt. Rich reported a great mix of fluke and sea bass today on the 7am BI fluke trip. Hi hook for both the fluke and sea bass was regular customer Jeff from Wallingford CT who had three nice fluke and eleven good size sea bass to take home with most of the sea bass in the 2.5 to 4lb range. Pool fish was a slammer sea bass in the 5lb plus range beating out a jumbo fluke! Plenty of big scup, some upwards to 3lbs!, and one nice bluefish rounded out a great day of fishing. Chris and his crew from Nassau Cty, LI had a great pile of fish that included keeper fluke, nearly two dozen jumbo sea bass to 5lbs and several dozen behemoth scup to 3lbs, now that is some pile of fish! All this and the boat never moved at a speed of greater than .4 all day!! Next 7am BI Fluke trip is set to sail by reservation this coming Tuesday, September 27th at 7am.
Capt. Rich looks forward to a new day of local cod fishing tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am. The weather forecasters seem to think the bulk of the rain will be coming in later in the day and the winds are forecasted to be light so it looks like a great day for fishing.
