I just got off the phone with Capt. Mike who reported a very strong day of local cod fishing. Capt. Mike repoted the sounding machine was just “lit up” with life. “Tremendous” stacks of bait and fish both herring and mackerel. The cod fish were underneath them and on the chew as well! The average per angler while varied was generally a half dozen nice fat green market size fish each with at least several limit catches observed. Nothing huge but all nice fish with sizes into the very low teens. Not many throwbacks today as well. While some fish were caught on the iron early in the trip on the drift, the best bet ended up being on the hook with bait on a hook later on in the day. We look forward to more good fishing tomorrow and the weather sounds awesome. Capt. Mike will be ready to set sail on the Lady Frances at 5am. A few pics will be provided courtesy Capt. Mike above today’s post.
