Capt. Rich reported a tough day of fishing today. The large groundswell did not affect the bite yesterday but two days of it seemed to take it’s toll for today’s fishing. A very slow scattered pick of keeper fluke and sea bass and a bunch of blue fish but not great numbers. Hi hook had four keeper fluke and a couple of the anglers aboard had upwards to a half dozen sea bass apiece. Pool fish was a fluke of around or just under six pounds. Well the bubble had to burst at some point as Capt. Rich over the last two to three weeks has had a mindbogglingly good run of big fluke and sea bass fishing with frequently over 200 fish a day!! Tomorrow is a new day and much better weather is in the cards for the start of the new week. Capt. Rich will set sail on the Gail Frances at 7am.
Capt. Mike reported the two half days today were okay. Some nice fluke and sea bass taken but nothing extraordinary. Tomorrow we feature three half days with trips leaving for fluke at 8am, 1pm and 4pm. Remember for those who make two back to back half days there is a $15 discount on the second trip and Monday is one of our “family” days so two adults and two children can go for $100 plus rod rentals (if needed) which equals a $30 savings!! Monday and Wednesday are half day “family” days at the Frances Fleet.
Capt. Ray reported last night’s Striper trip was just okay. Some keeper bass and a bunch of blues but nothing extraordinary. Next Striper trip is on tap for Wednesday Night at 7pm with Capt. Ray.
