Roger is excited to report on an awesome day of fluking close to home today aboard the Lady Frances. A great recovery from yesterday. The weather prohibited us from going too far and it turned out to work in our favor nonetheless with drift after drift producing quality keepers and plenty of shorts. The drift was very fast today and the conditions less than ideal but the fluke were on the feed and readily accepting a wide variety of buck tails and bait rigs including whole squid. The nod for producing the most keepers would probably go to rental rod setups or double small white spro/smiling bill bucktails fished hi lo with a heavier sinker and trust me when I tell you that today was a day of heavier sinkers! While there were no limits recorded today the fluke were very spread out around the boat with everyone leaving with at least a few keepers and the majority of the anglers aboard having four to six nice keepers apiece to bring home. A handful of jumbos today with the pool going to Doug from Rockland County NY who took home a fine 6.5lb slab. A couple blue fish and a mess of big sea robins and a few catch and release sea bass rounded out the species assortment for the day. Pictures today are provided courtesy of Roger. Tomorrow sounds like a beautiful day on the water and a refreshing change from the obnoxiously blustery weather we endured over the past two days. Capt. Rich will be ready to set sail tomorrow morning at 7am aboard the Lady Frances and Roger will have the office open by 5am or just shortly after for tackle and ticket sales.
