Roger reported a slower but still respectable day with the cod fish today. A slow pick whether on anchor or drifting. A few fish on jigs and teasers today too. Most of the cod kept again were nice size gaffing fish in the 8 to 15 lb range with the best of the day about 17 lbs. Hi hook boxed five keepers with one other fisher boxing four keepers. We also had far less in the way of sea bass and red hake today but we did have some. We had a fair amount of good size scup and plenty of nice size ocean perch. Very few short cod and one short pollock and the unmentionables were once again hardly worth a mention outside of one drift early in the day. The rain today over the course of the second half of the trip however was beyond epic and some folks commented that they were unaware that it could rain so hard. A couple of pictures courtesy of Roger. Next fishing trip is set for Wednesday at 7 am on the Gail Frances with Capt. Rich at the helm. Weather looks about as good as it gets for fishing Wednesday!
