The Gail Frances reported an awesome day with the sea bass with a full boat limit of good size black sea bass up to 4 lbs and plenty of big porgies with sizes up to nearly 3 lbs. There were some cod fish as well but they seemed to bite best early in the day. Nothing big but a few nice green fish into the very low teens fought it out for bragging rights. A few nice cod on jigs early in the day while they were drifting as well. Some nice ocean perch and the unmentionables were a lot easier to deal with than a few weeks ago. Capt. Rich will set sail tomorrow morning on the Gail Frances at 6 am for cod/sea bass.
Capt. Matt reported a strong day of tog fishing with a decent number of angler limits and others who were close. There were others who did not fare quite as well as is often the case in party boat tog fishing. Still way better than expected after all the wind the past two days. Some big fish today as well with the pool fish just a shade under 12 lbs and there were formidable fish including one just south of ten pounds and a bunch of others in the 7-8 lb range. Plenty of short tog as well to keep fishers busy at the rail. Just a couple of keeper sea bass, one keeper cod fish and some short sea bass and a couple short cod. Capt. Mike will set sail tomorrow morning for tog at 6 am aboard the Lady Frances.
The picture above was provided by Wayne Gunderman of Scituate RI with an 11 lb tog he caught this past Wednesday aboard the Lady Frances with Capt. Mike.
