Last night’s bass trip was much better than the night before, however while there was marked improvement and the quality was outstanding, numbers were still not where we would have liked them but we did have fish of 45 and 30 lbs on the boat with the rest in the teens to 20 lb range. No blue fish last night. Still some space tonight so call the office if interested in making a reservation. Pics are courtesy of first mate Greg.
Still plenty of room on today’s Whale Watch. A few pics appear courtesy Chris K from yesterday’s adventure on the deep blue seas.
Capt. Matt reported an outstanding full day fluke and sea bass charter for the Mike Bachmann group from Plymouth Mass. Using only rental rod long leader bait rigs (simple squid/spearing combos) the group crushed both big sea bass to 5 lbs with many 3 to 4 lb fish and big fluke to nearly 9 lbs with a good dozen other fish in the four to six pound range. All hands in the group left with big bulging bags of fillets. That’s two awesome back to back full day charters the past two days aboard the Admiral Frances with Capt. Matt at the helm! Still some prime dates available for private charters this summer at the Frances Fleet so if interested please call the office and speak to Tammy Roger or Cory for further booking details or check out the “private charters” section of the web site for more information. Some pics forthcoming courtesy of first mate Troy.
Capt. Mike reported a mix of sea bass, fluke and scup on this morning’s half day trip with a fluke around 4 lbs taking the pool. Two half days on tap for tomorrow, both scheduled to be on the Lady Frances, first setting sail at 8am and the second setting sail at 1pm. Remember doing back to back half days can net an angler $15 off the second half day outing!
First mate Chirs L reported a solid day of fishing aboard the Gail Frances today but just a little more relaxed than the past two outings. Overall sizes not quite as impressive either. Nevertheless pool fish of 7 lbs and a few others over 4 lbs on the fluke with hi hooks bringing home upwards to six and even seven keepers apiece. A respectable amount of sea bass limits as well but more in the way of “nice keepers” as opposed to jumbos. Fish were not quite as spread out as yesterday. Some nice scup and some blue fish to add a bit of variety. Another great weather day on tap for tomorrow and Capt. Rich will be setting sail at 7am aboard the Gail Frances.
Capt. Mike reported another awesome Whale Watch with customers enjoying a great sighting of Finback Whales today feeding on just massive amounts of sand eels. Tremendous amounts of bird life as well out there. Whale Watching is off to an astonishingly good start and the next watch is planned for this coming Tuesday at 1pm. If interested in going please book on line or call the office to make a reservation.
