Capt. Mike reported an excellent day of fluke fishing today aboard the Admiral Frances. The best number of keepers for a trip so far this year! Brian Cofske from Webster MA was hi hook with 7 fine keepers to just under 5 lbs and Brian’s daughter Jenn and her friend Erin combined for an additional half dozen nice size keepers. Brian said most of the keepers were fish in the 20-21 inch range. Another longtime regular Mr. Rick from Belchertown MA had six good size keepers. Both Mr. Rick and Brian used bucktail rigs of some sort. There were two other regulars who boxed six keepers apiece as well. Many other fishers aboard had 2 to 5 fluke apiece to take home and while a few fishers had less overall it was the best showing of fluke yet for the season keeper wise. Pool fish was reported to be just over 5 lbs. Customers also remained busy at the rail with short fluke, catch and release sea bass, sea robins and some pretty impressive skates. Many fishers released upwards to 15 and even 20 shorties today! Next full day sets sail at 7 am tomorrow aboard the Gail Frances.
