First mate Chris L was pleased to report a nice day of fishing aboard the Gail Frances. The sea bass took center stage and the boat tallied a near boat limit of these tasty norther relatives of the grouper family. A lot of quality sea bass too in the 3 to 4 lb range and some bigger ones up to nearly 5 lbs! Some slammer scup today with a bunch between two and three pounds. Last but certainly not least there was a fair amount of fluke with sizes to the pool winning six pounder taken by longtime regular customer and excellent rod handler Sean Harrison from Colchester CT. Way to go Sean! A few pictures today courtesy of Sean and his son Mike. Tomorrow looks fine for fishing and the Gail Frances will set sail at 7 am with Capt. Richie at the helm.
Capt. George reported an excellent afternoon half day trip for a very light load of fishers with the best number of fluke up to 5 lbs we have had in a couple of weeks and a good mess of good size sea bass to four pounds. Two half day trips on tap tomorrow with the first set to sail at 8am and the second at 1pm aboard the Admiral Frances with Capt. George.
The Weekend Tuna trip has been canceled. We are keeping a close eye on the weather for the trip leaving Monday Night but as of this writing….NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE!!
Tomorrow night’s bass trip has been canceled due to the weather. Call mid week or so next week to find out if a Saturday Night trip is to be scheduled for the 10th.
