Sunday Feb 13th cod fish report
Capt. Mike reported they wound up in decent shape today. After going back to their old stomping grounds and being disapointed with the lack luster results Mike went on a search and destroy mission and while they did not exactly destroy the anglers aboard made a day of it with nice healthy green winter cod fish. The numbers varied from angler to angler with a few guys getting their limits and a few anglers stopping at the fish market on the way home and scores all in between. Nothing big today but all nice market fish. Just an occasional pout or red hake in the mix otherwise its been all cod fish. No sail tomorrow due to the windy weather forecasted. Call the office tomorrow in regards to Tuesday’s outing.
The LADY FRANCES sailed this morning with what turned out to be a light crowd for a weekend. Captain Mike called in around 9 am and said the had a good pick of fish for the first few hours. The bite stopped altogether around 9 am so he was heading off to find another hungry school of fish. We will try an update with a full report this evening. We will be sailing tomorrow morning at 3 am. Not a lot of resevervations for tomorrow so come on down and enjoy the day.

Here is a report from Chris K that fished with us on Monday’s trip. ”
Eben and I decided to go up fishing after the game Sunday night. We had done the mad rush, get everything ready after the game 2 years before with great results. We set up at 5 am and my line hit bottom and I was hooked up. Eben dropped down and was onto a fish. Mine was a short, His was a keeper. Drop down, and same thing I got a short Eben had a keeper. We were fishing bait. I did manage a keeper. Then just like that the bite died out in the stern, we figured the chum had to get into the water better before the blitz began. About 20 minutes later Capt Mike gave Eben and I a signal ” you might want to find room in the bow”. So we grab our rods and bait and head up to the bow. Mr. Pak and his friend Mr. Sin both turned around and motioned for us to fish next to them in the pulpit. As soon as I drop down I was on. Drop down again and on again.
Monday February 7th update
Capt Mike called in to report it is a phenominal day on the water. And that goes for the weather and the fishing! Anglers are enjoying limits of cod and beautiful February weather. Capt. Mike’s word of the day is “COD-APPALOOZA”! It doesn’t get much better than this!! Unfortunately Mother Nature has her hand in the mix for the next day or possibly two. No trip tomorrow, and give the office a call Tuesday afternoon to check on Wednesday. It looks like we are going to miss the storm that they once predicted for Thursday, so potentially that might be the next day we sail.
Monday February 7th
Capt. Mike is out today, we will have an update for you later in the day.
