Another good day of fishing on the LADY FRANCES. While it was cold on the water Captain Mike reported that the hardy souls that ventured out today were treated to another great day of winter cod fishing. All nice green fish. We will be sailing tomorrow morning at 3 am.
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 9th
Tomorrow looks like a good day. The LADY FRANCES is scheduled to sail at 3 am. Call the office today after 4 pm to double check on the local weather.
Here is a report from Chris K that fished with us on Monday’s trip. ”
Eben and I decided to go up fishing after the game Sunday night. We had done the mad rush, get everything ready after the game 2 years before with great results. We set up at 5 am and my line hit bottom and I was hooked up. Eben dropped down and was onto a fish. Mine was a short, His was a keeper. Drop down, and same thing I got a short Eben had a keeper. We were fishing bait. I did manage a keeper. Then just like that the bite died out in the stern, we figured the chum had to get into the water better before the blitz began. About 20 minutes later Capt Mike gave Eben and I a signal ” you might want to find room in the bow”. So we grab our rods and bait and head up to the bow. Mr. Pak and his friend Mr. Sin both turned around and motioned for us to fish next to them in the pulpit. As soon as I drop down I was on. Drop down again and on again.
Monday February 7th update
Capt Mike called in to report it is a phenominal day on the water. And that goes for the weather and the fishing! Anglers are enjoying limits of cod and beautiful February weather. Capt. Mike’s word of the day is “COD-APPALOOZA”! It doesn’t get much better than this!! Unfortunately Mother Nature has her hand in the mix for the next day or possibly two. No trip tomorrow, and give the office a call Tuesday afternoon to check on Wednesday. It looks like we are going to miss the storm that they once predicted for Thursday, so potentially that might be the next day we sail.
Monday February 7th
Capt. Mike is out today, we will have an update for you later in the day.
Sunday February 6th
The weather for Monday the 7th looks great. Captain Mike had a great day yesterday with a full boat limit of nice green cod. We are looking forward to relaxing tonight for the big game and getting back on the water tomorrow. The LADY FRANCES is scheduled to sail at 3 am
Saturday February 5th
Captain Mike sailed this morning on the LADY FRANCES. He just called into say that the fishing today is excellent he had almost a full boat limit by 9:30 and he was heading into deeper water looking for some bigger fish. This was a treat after yesterday when fishing was just a pick for us. We will have a full update later. The weather for tomorrow looks a little breezy so call the office after 4 today and get a weather up date.
Thursday February 3rd.
No fishing again today due to the weather. I think the snow and ice is getting to everyone. The weather looks like it will give us a break for tomorrow, so the boat is planning to sail as scheduled at 3:00 a.m. Capt. Mike is anxious to get back out there after a few days off. Hope to see you!

February 1

January 31st
Captain Mike reported a much slower day on the cod grounds today. The fishing was no more then a pick most of the day. A far cry from the great fishing of last week. We are taking a few days off because of the snow and rain. It looks like Friday will be the next day that we are able to sail. Call the office on Thursday to confirm.
