Capt. Chris was elated to report that the first day of the 8am full day was a very successful one with a great haul of keepers for the light crowd of anglers aboard. Most of the anglers aboard took home several nice keepers apiece and most of the keepers were fish in the 3.5 to 5lb range with two six pounders being the biggest fish for the day. Not bad for the Rhode Island south shore beaches if I do say so myself! Anglers also had plenty of action with the shorts and out of season sea bass. Stephanie, Ryan and crew from Colorado who sail with us year after year had an absolute blast today putting plenty of good size fluke aboard the Admiral Frances, Aunt Jane however had the biggest fish of the day with a fine behemoth blue fish that tipped the scales at nearly 15lbs!! Capt. Chris reported that all terminal gear was effective today but that the rental rod set ups did just fine. Next 8am full day fluke trip sets sail tomorrow aboard the Admiral Frances.
EXCELLENT MORNING HALF DAY ABOARD THE LADY FRANCES WITH CAPT MIKE JULY 5TH 2011!!!
Capt. Mike reported a great morning half day today with an excellent mess of keepers to just over four pounds boated by the anglers aboard. A good number of anglers aboard had two or three keepers apiece. Plenty of shorts too so there was never a dull moment. Plenty of those out of season sea bass up to 4lbs that will be in season in less than a week!! Rental rods and other long leader bait rigs were the way to go this morning for the most keepers but all terminal gear accounted for plenty of action.
VERY GOOD HOLIDAY FLUKING ON THE GAIL FRANCES TODAY, MONDAY JULY 4TH 2011!!/PM HALF DAY REPORT
Capt. Rich reported a great day of fluking. The modest crowd of anglers aboard all managed to do pretty well today with a number of limit catches and most of the anglers putting three to six good size fluke apiece into their bags and coolers. The pool fish was once again around 7lbs but the biggest fish of the day not in the pool was closer to 8lbs and was taken by longtime regular customer Anthony Ludano from CT. Anthony and his girlfriend Rose had an awesome day bringing home more than a dozen big fluke for many fine meals to come. Well done guys! Spros were the ticket early in the day but when the wind came up hi/lo bait rigs became the top producers and even the standard bait rigs did just fine once the drift picked up. Capt. Rich looks forward to another good day tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
Capt. Mike reported a great afternoon of fishing but not a whole lot of keeping going on. Most of the fluke that came over the rail went right back over the rail as did all the good size sea bass that found the angler’s fluke offerings irresistable. Nevertheless a few nice keepers made it aboard the decks of the Lady Frances. Tomorrow there are three half day fishing options: 8am to Noon, 1pm to 5pm, and 4pm to 8pm. Keep in mind if you do two half days in one day you can recieve ten dollars off the second half day fishing trip.
GOOD MORNING HALF DAY FISHING WITH CAPT. MIKE ON THE LADY FRANCES, TODAY MONDAY JULY 4TH 2011
Capt. Mike reported very good half day fishing this morning with a nice pull of keepers to nearly 5lbs and plenty of big out of season sea bass to toss back. A tremendous amount of short fluke meant there was never a dull moment! The fishing along the beach is really quite good which makes us really excited about the 8am to 3pm full day boat which starts tomorrow and sails during the week through the summer!
STRIPER REPORT FOR SUNDAY JULY 3RD 2011
Capt. Ray reported a solid night of Striper fishing. Nice size fish with the best in the mid twenties. There was one limit catch and there was also one monster blue fish in the mid teens. The weather turned out to be beautiful. Capt. Ray looks forward to the next Striper trip set to sail on Wednesday Night at 7pm by reservation on the Lady Frances.
FLUKE REPORTS FOR FULL DAY AND HALF DAY AM/PM JULY 3RD 2011
Capt. Rich reported a decent day of fluke fishing. The pace while a bit more relaxed was consistent and there were a few anglers who managed full limit catches. Not as many big fish with the pool fish ONLY 7lbs. That is the smallest pool winner in over 3 weeks!! Customers did keep busy throwing back plenty of those out of season sea bass and short fluke. Capt. Rich will be out there again today so look for a full report later today.
Capt. Chris reported last night turned out to be a beautiful night on the water. No rain or thunderstorms just a hazy overcast and very comfortable temperatures. Anglers were treated to some bursts of action with the short fluke but overall the fishing was not quite up to the level that it had been and the keepers seemed to have lock jaw although they did manage to get a few. Nothing big with the best just under 4lbs. Capt. Mike reported the fluke bit a bit better on the morning half day trip with fish to 5lbs and quite a few more keepers in the mix. Plenty of shorts kept it interesting. Both trips saw anglers throwback a lot of sea bass and some skates and sea robins made things interesting as well and even one lone porgy showed up.
STRIPER CRUSH ON THE LADY FRANCES LAST NIGHT SATURDAY JULY 2ND 2011!!!!/PM HALF DAY FISHING REPORT FOR JULY 2ND.
Capt. Ray reported awesome Striper fishing last night. The boat was quite close to a full boat limit and the hi hook last night brought six legal bass to the boat, only retaining his limit of course. Ginny Reed and her grandson Cole enjoyed a great night with a full limit of big Stripers and Cole took pool honors with a fine linesider that tipped the scales at 35lbs!! Way to go Cole! There were numerous other Stripers in the 20’s and most were at least in the teens. Only one blue fish otherwise it was all Stripers. Capt. Ray looks forward to another good night of fishing tonight with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7pm. Call the office if interested in making a reservation.
Capt. Chris reported a very good night of half day fishing with a nice mess of keepers to six pounds and plenty of shorts for the customers aboard. Lots of big sea bass to throwback as well this evening. The weather was great and all hands aboard enjoyed a beautiful action packed evening drifting along Rhode Island’s scenic south shroe.
FULL DAY FLUKE REPORT FOR SATURDAY JULY 2ND 2011
Capt. Rich reported a decent day of fishing overall although the fish were not as spread out among the anglers today as they had been on prior trips. There were at least a couple limit catches and a number of anglers went home with several nice fish apiece. One angler had several nice fish fishing with just soft plastics and a spinning rod while others did well with whole fresh squid they caught off the docks in the morning before the trip sailed and a few others did well with various spro combos. A good number of fish over 4lbs today with two fish in the 8 to 8.5lb range to battle it out for the pool. Capt. Rich looks forward to a new day on the water tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
Still plenty of room on the fireworks cruise slated for Monday Night setting sail at 7pm. Cost is 30 per person all fares. If interested please call the office to book spots.

Ray looks forward to another beautiful night on the water and more good fishing with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7pm this evening. Still plenty of room on tonight’s trip so if interested call the office to make a reservation.
Capt. Chris reported the evening half day fluke trip was a pleasant one both weather and fish wise with a nice mess of keepers to 6lbs but the pool honors went to Janine from Hebron CT who took a 4lbr. Lots of shorts in the mix as well to keep things moving right along and keep anyone from being bored. Next evening half day will set sail this evening at 4pm on the Admiral Frances.
