October 3rd
Captain Cole reporrted a decent day on the cod grounds. We had a great showing of nice cod to just shy of 20 pounds. A few nicer fish in the 10-15lb range as well. Nice sea bass to keep rods bent between keeper cod. Slower on the scup but a few for anglers who tried smaller hooks. Sailing tomorrow at 7am
Captain Greg reported a stellar 3 day tuna trip. We tried some new grounds after some solid reports. We had a great first day with around 2 dozen tuna coming on the troll and the first night. The second day saw a few fish but when we set the hook for the night all hell broke loose. We boated 35 yellowfin in less then 2 hours. We broke off a more then we landed but if you broke off you were back hooked up in minutes. The fish were mostly in the 30-50lb range or the 60-75lb range. We did break off some larger ones with one estimated to be closer to 125lbs. We ended to the trip with many limits and close to a boat limit. Jigs and bait both worked well. Sailing this coming weekend for another 3 day trip.

Sailing tomorrow morning at 7am on the Gail Frances

We will be sailing all weekend long and the weather looks great.
September 25th
We have a very busy day on the boats today.
Captain George was at the helm of the Admiral Frances with a sea bass charter. We tried a few locations and found some very solid fishing. Not the biggest size on the sea bass but everyone left with a full limit and a good bag of scup.
Captain Frank was at the helm of the Lady Frances on a Cod/seabass charter. With the extra time we were able to travel out to some deeper water and found a good mixed bag of cod, scup, sea bass and winter flounder. We set the anchor in the morning and had a good pick going. As the morning got nicer we set the boat on a drift in a new location and saw savage sea bass fishing. Frank reported it was some of the best sea bass fishing he has ever seen. Throwing back double header 3-5lb fish. A nice of market cod rounded out the day.
We do have some dates left for the charter season. We can do grounds from 1-130. Just call the office and talk with Cory to reserve a boat.
Captain Rich took the ride down to coxes today and found a good pick of fish. Coxes has been holding less scup so it does give the best shot at catching more cod. Today was a little slower on the sea bass and they were on the smaller size. We had many sea bass limits around the boat with everyone going home with a few. more cod on coxes then frank had south of the island and nicer size as well. Sailing tomorrow morning at 7am. We are keeping an eye on next weeks weather as it is looking a little unsettled.
September 22nd
No trips tomorrow with the south east wind forcasted.
Captain Greg reported a decent day of catching on the full day grounds. The wind came on much earlier then forecasted but we did the best make the day out of it. We went back to where we had them yesterday but there was no bite at all. We moved a few miles and fishing was much better. Sea bass limit and all the scup anglers wanted. Some cod but slower then we have been seeing. Bait was the king today with the swing on the anchor.
September 21st
Captain Greg reported a busy day on the full day cod grounds. We worked close to the island and the fishing was rock solid. Anglers reported drop and stick fishing for all species. Just a few fish shy of a sea bass limits and good size knob heads. All the scup that anglers wanted. Some nice green cod in the 8-12 lb range with a shorts in the mix as well. Both jigs and bait worked well. those who jigged kept away from the scup. The office is full stocked up on diamond jigs as well as slow pitch jigs and assist hooks. Don’t be afraid to try jigging and ask the office staff or mates for help in picking out something new to try. Sailing tomorrow morning at 7am on the Gail.
September 20th
Last 2 days have been very good fish on the full day grounds. Sunday was rather sporty but we set the hook and settle in to good fish. Good showing on cod and many sea bass limits around the boat. Mondays weather was a different stop with as nice as it gets this time of the year. We headed out to new ground to see what we could find. We ended with a few dozen cod fish to 12 pounds and many sea bass limits around the boat. Less scup today but those who wanted them did well. Sailing tomorrow morning at 7am.
